Best of cheap week: April 2013 edition

It's tax day, and unlike many of you I actually had to pay in this year so I am broke. Not that this is terribly new.

But luckily we just got done with the first half of April where the contests featured items under $15, and just for fun I thought I'd combine a cheap week post with a coupon code post for those of you who are REALLY interested in finding some steals! Cheap week soap-off

So I checked the winners of this week's $5 item contest and the top rows seemed to be dominated by soap! Figure I'll give them some shoutouts.

I've bought soap on etsy... last time in the form of trade, bars of lavender and lemongrass scents from this shop. The soap was AMAZING! Lathery, smelled wonderful, and my favorite part... when one bar got down to the last little sliver I was able to just smash it into the next one during a hot shower so I didn't waste a single bit!

Cheap week items: Greeting cards

So this past week was "cheap week"... since we pull items priced according to the day of the month, everything we pull this first week is under $7! I bet you're wondering what you can get on etsy for under $7?

One of my favorite things that turned up several times was GREETING CARDS... heck, even the mass-produced ones at Target are $6-7 these days! Might as well splurge and get some handmade ones, right?

I BOUGHT a set of cards from this shop, which didn't place terribly high in the contest, because what are voters thinking? But as soon as I clicked, I favorited, and then thought oh heck a favorite isn't enough...
