New contest: Welcome Wednesdays for new Etsy shops!

So remember when Etsy had that "pounce" feature that helped you find NEW shops? I miss that feature. Heck, reading the community forums, everybody missed that feature.

Well I decided to do something about it and dedicate one contest day every week for us to vote on items by NEW shops! I'm calling it "Welcome Wednesday" and we had our first contest this week. If your shop has been opened less than two months, you can sign yourself up just like any regular day.

Anyway we had some great finds today from all sorts of new shops!

This adorable birdhouse is from a shop that opened April 23rd and hasn't had any sales, I think it's a great deal:

New feature: tell your friends to vote for you

People in the contest sometimes want to post links to get more votes, but it doesn't work well because the only way to do it is to say "here's this contest, after like 300 clicks you MIGHT see my item and can vote for it!" Sigh.

So I made this link:
etsycontest.com/?votefor=BrisCraftyShop

Replace that last shop name with your shop name, and IF you're in the contest today it'll bring your item up as one to vote for.

Hopefully some of you all will be in the contest in the next week or so and can help me test this out!
